Whether we are waiting for answers to prayer, breakthrough in a situation, or the fulfillment of God’s promises, patience is often tested. But even in the waiting, there is a reason to be thankful. Gratitude in waiting strengthens our faith. It reminds us that God’s timing is perfect and that His plans are always for our good. When we focus on what God has already done in our lives, we gain confidence to trust Him for what is still coming. Our hearts find peace in the present moment and hope for the future.

So instead of asking, “How long will this take?” we can learn to ask, “Lord, where can I find You in this moment?”

Instead of focusing on what hasn’t happened yet, we can thank God for who He is right now.

Instead of letting frustration fill the silence, we can let gratitude fill our hearts.

When we choose gratitude in the waiting, something shifts. Our anxious thoughts quiet. Our trust deepens. Our hope rises again. And we begin to experience the peace that comes from knowing God is working even when we can’t see it.

As you move through today, look for those quiet reminders that the ordinary is filled with God. Let every small gift, every breath, every kindness, every moment of rest become a place where gratitude takes root. Rejoicing becomes natural when we notice God’s nearness. Prayer becomes continuous when we recognize His involvement in the details. Thanksgiving becomes instinctive when we train our eyes to see the small things He provides.

Prayer for today: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your perfect timing. Teach me to be patient in waiting and to recognize Your blessings even while I wait. Help me to trust Your plan and give thanks for the ways You are working in my life, both seen and unseen. Strengthen my heart and deepen my faith as I wait upon You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Tuesday, November 25 Gratitude in Waiting Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1Thessalonians 5:16-18 Waiting is never easy.
