He doesn’t pretend to be enough on his own. He admits, “They were too mighty for me.” But what is too strong for us is never too strong for God. No enemy is greater than our Deliverer. When we are weak, He is mighty. When we are overwhelmed, He is our Defender.

Our Lord is not intimidated by our enemies, whether visible or unseen. He rescues His children from everything that feels too big, too threatening, or too crushing. His rescue isn’t just about survival, it’s about deliverance. He doesn’t merely calm the storm; He pulls us out of it entirely. His salvation takes us from chaos to peace, from fear to confidence, from despair to living hope.

Yes, sometimes the battle feels spiritual and that’s because it often is. We do have an enemy, the Devil, and on our own, he is too strong for us. But we are never meant to fight him alone. The apostle Paul told Timothy to “be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 2:1), and reminded the Ephesians to “be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might” (Ephesians 6:10). God equips us with His armor so that we can stand firm against the schemes of the enemy.

And here’s the incredible truth: the God who has all power, all authority, and all sovereignty delights in you. You, His child, forgiven in Christ, are not alone. He has placed His Spirit inside you, and He rejoices over you today.

Where do you feel outmatched in life right now?

Are you trying to fight in your own strength?

What would it look like to fully depend on God’s strength in that area?

So no matter what the adversary brings your way, no matter how weak or overwhelmed you feel, remember this: the God of the universe delights in you. And He will rescue you.

Prayer for today: Father, I’m grateful that You don’t just leave me where I was—you draw me into Your presence. Thank You for lifting me out of the waters and placing my feet on solid ground. Amen.

Tuesday, July 22 Rescued From What’s Too Strong for Us He rescued me from my powerful enemies, from those who hated me and were too strong for me.
