It involves valuing their well-being and happiness, and desiring to be close to them\u2014emotionally, spiritually, and even physically.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the word love means \u201cstrong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties.\u201d So when we read in verse one that David expresses love to the Lord, this comes from a powerful, intimate connection born from real relationship and history with God. David\u2019s love wasn&#8217;t abstract, it was rooted in experience, trust, and a deep dependence on the Lord.<\/p>\n<p>Do you identify with this kind of love? Has God rescued you? Has He carried you through the hardest days? Do you see Him standing beside you and cheering you on during the good times?<\/p>\n<p>My heart echoes David\u2019s words: \u201cI love you, Lord.\u201d It\u2019s not always a perfect love. At times it\u2019s distracted, conditional, or faint\u2014but it\u2019s real. And the more I get to know God, the more I fall in love with Him. God is my safe place, my strength, my Father, and my friend.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prayer for today<\/strong>: <em>Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me first. I know I can\u2019t love anyone else the way they deserve without Your love flowing through me. Teach me to love You with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind, and all my strength. Stir my affection for You, that I would not just say \u201cI love You,\u201d but live it daily in word and action. Lord, You are my strength. You are my everything. I love You, Lord.
