You guard all that is mine. <strong>Psalm 16:5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Psalm 16:5, David declares that God Himself is his inheritance\u2014a treasure more valuable than anything this world can offer. To say that God is one\u2019s \u201cinheritance\u201d is to celebrate being part of the family of God (Galatians 4:5; 1 John 3:1). It\u2019s not about earthly wealth or possessions, but the spiritual privilege of belonging to God, having Him as our protector, provider, and guide.<\/p>\n<p>The term \u201ccup\u201d used in this verse also carries symbolic meaning. It can refer to something a person is assigned or allotted, for good or for bad (Matthew 20:22; 26:39). David acknowledges that his life, his portion, and his future are securely in God\u2019s hands, God is both the giver, and the guardian of all that David possesses. For us, as God\u2019s children, this extends to an eternal inheritance, one that cannot be taken away by circumstances or human hands.<\/p>\n<p>As children of God, we too have an eternal inheritance in Him. No matter what we face in life, this inheritance remains secure, unshakeable, and unchangeable. God holds our future firmly in His hands, and nothing can separate us from His love. It\u2019s a promise that fills us with hope and gives us peace, knowing that we belong to the eternal family of God.<\/p>\n<p>Do you see God as your true inheritance?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prayer for today<\/strong>: <em>Dear Lord, thank You for being my inheritance, my treasure, and my eternal security. Help me to live today with the full assurance that my future is secure in You, and that nothing in this world can take away the blessings You\u2019ve promised me.
