Holding On to Peace in the Battle, Part III<\/strong><\/p>\n

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sometimes in life, we just want the battle to be over. We long for God to deliver us from the storm\u2014to take away the sickness, fix the job situation, or resolve the conflict. And while God certainly has the power to do all of that, we often discover a deeper truth: He doesn\u2019t always deliver us from the fire\u2014sometimes He delivers us in it.<\/p>\n

In those moments, we learn what Jesus meant when He said, \u201cMy peace I give you<\/em>.\u201d His peace doesn\u2019t depend on the absence of trouble, it depends on His presence in trouble. In the middle of your storm God steps in and covers you with His peace. Think of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. God didn\u2019t take them out of the fiery furnace, but He stepped into the flames with them. The fire didn\u2019t consume them because God was their covering.<\/p>\n

We can also consider the Old Testament story of Daniel in the lion\u2019s den. Daniel wasn\u2019t spared from this storm. But when he was there, God shut the mouths of the lions and surrounded him with supernatural peace.<\/p>\n

These stories aren\u2019t just history\u2014they are patterns of how God works with His people. He may not always change our circumstances right away, but He promises to be with us in them<\/strong>, granting us peace that makes no sense to the natural mind.<\/p>\n

So if you\u2019re in the middle of something hard right now, don\u2019t let your heart be troubled. Don\u2019t be afraid. God can deliver you right where you are. Hold on to the peace Jesus has given you. It\u2019s a peace that says, \u201cEven here, even now, I am not alone.\u201d <\/em>Praise Him not just for what He will do\u2014but for how He is already present, already faithful, already keeping you through it.<\/p>\n

Prayer for today<\/strong>: Lord Jesus, thank You for giving me peace\u2014not like the world gives, but peace that holds me steady in the middle of the storm. Help me to trust You, even when You don\u2019t deliver me from the fire, but choose to walk with me in it. Remind me that You are with me, just like You were with the Hebrew boys and Daniel. Fill my heart with faith and gratitude, and help me to hold on to peace in every battle. In Your name I pray, Amen.<\/em><\/p>\n
