Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. <strong>Philippians 4:8<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The word &#8220;pure&#8221; can have several meanings depending on the context, but it generally refers to something that is free from any impurities, contaminants, or elements that are not essential to its essence. In today\u2019s verse purity is not just about external actions; it\u2019s about keeping our hearts and minds free from contamination. When we fill our thoughts with purity, we are protecting ourselves from the corruption that the world can bring. What we watch, listen to, and think about has the power to affect our inner purity. God calls us to be pure in heart and mind, focusing on what is wholesome and undefiled.<\/p>\n<p>As we continue on this verse with a focus on removing the junk I encourage you to take some time today to evaluate what you are allowing into your heart and mind. In all the meanings, the core idea of &#8220;pure&#8221; is the absence of contamination, corruption, or distortion, whether in a physical, moral, spiritual, or emotional context.<\/p>\n<p>Are there messages, images, or influences that aren\u2019t pure? Ask God to help you focus on things that are pure, and to cleanse your heart and mind from anything that doesn\u2019t align with His holiness.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u200a<\/strong><strong>Prayer for today<\/strong>: <em>Lord, help me to fix my thoughts on what is pure. Purify my heart and mind so that I can reflect Your holiness in all I do. Help me to discern what is pure and choose it over the impurity that surrounds me. In Jesus\u2019 name, we pray.
