{"id":3732,"date":"2025-02-04T07:13:08","date_gmt":"2025-02-04T07:13:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cornerstonecem.org\/blog\/?p=3732"},"modified":"2025-02-01T20:14:10","modified_gmt":"2025-02-01T20:14:10","slug":"jesus-our-true-vine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cornerstonecem.org\/blog\/jesus-our-true-vine\/","title":{"rendered":"Jesus Our True Vine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>Tuesday, February 4<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesus Our True Vine<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. <strong>John 15:1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The key to spiritual vitality is in our continual connection to the Vine. We are the branches. We aren\u2019t necessary. Branches can be fruitful, or they can be pruned. A single branch can wilt or thrive. <strong>The vine is the center of attention, and the gardener is in charge.<\/strong> The branch\u2019s only hope is to remain connected to the vine in the gardener\u2019s care. Jesus declares Himself to be the &#8220;true vine&#8221;\u2014the source of life and nourishment for all who believe. He is the fulfillment of God\u2019s promises, the One through whom we receive spiritual life. As followers of Christ, we are only healthy, alive, satisfied, and fulfilled when we (the branches) remain connected to the Vine (Jesus), being nurtured by the Gardener (God).<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s only when we are connected to the Vine that we\u2019re able to do what we were created to do, and that is to direct attention to the goodness of the Gardner, rather than try to get people to look at me! I still struggle with this. I still do things to try to make myself look impressive as if I\u2019m a rogue branch that thinks it can water and nourish itself.<\/p>\n<p>Just as a branch cannot bear fruit if it\u2019s disconnected from the vine, we too must stay rooted in Christ. Whether through daily prayer, worship, Bible study, or fellowship with other believers, staying connected ensures that we are constantly drawing from His life and power.<\/p>\n<p>Reflect today on what it means for Jesus to be your true source. How does your life depend on Him?<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Prayer for today<\/strong>: <em>Heavenly Father, thank You for another day of life. As we move forward, help us to remain rooted in You, the true Vine. Teach us to abide in Your presence every day, that we might bear lasting fruit in our lives for Your glory. In Jesus\u2019 name, we pray.
