That means we let go, trust in God, and choose faith over fear.

“Casting” means to throw something away or release it. This implies that we give our burdens and anxieties over to God, releasing control of the things that weigh us down. Often, we try to solve everything ourselves, but God asks us to trust Him with our worries. This is a personal, tender kind of care, reminding us that God isn’t distant but deeply concerned about what troubles us. Knowing that God loves us gives us confidence that He won’t leave us to struggle alone.

Sometimes we keep junk because we think, “I might need this later,” or “What if I can’t replace it?” Similarly, we often hold onto anxiety, fear, and past mistakes, thinking we need to control everything. God invites us to cast all our cares on Him and trust that He will take care of us. What are you holding onto that you need to release to God today?

When we cast our anxieties on God, we are exercising faith. Instead of holding onto our fears, we trust that God can handle them better than we can. This doesn’t mean our problems instantly go away, but it means we are no longer bearing the burden alone.

In essence, this verse encourages us to live in the peace that comes from knowing that we don’t have to carry our anxieties by ourselves. God invites us to lay them down at His feet, knowing that He is more than capable of caring for us through whatever challenges we face.

Prayer for today: Heavenly Father, teach me to let go of the anxieties and burdens I’ve been holding onto.
