As the Father has sent Me, I also send you. <\/em><strong>John 20:21<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jesus is risen! Mary sees him with her own eyes and returns to tell the disciples. They rejoice and everyone lives happily ever after. Except not. Despite Mary\u2019s announcement, the disciples are still very much so afraid. In fact, we read in the book of John that the disciples are hiding behind locked doors in fear of the Jews. Will the authorities come to arrest them and crucify them too? Is Mary\u2019s grief making her irrational? People don\u2019t actually rise from the dead. I know what I saw with my eyes. I see how He (The Savior) groaned. And then suddenly, Jesus is standing among them. Alive! They are more afraid than ever now. Will Jesus be angry because they left the scene of the crucifixion? Will he be disappointed they didn\u2019t believe Mary\u2019s words? Will he lecture them about their lack of faith? No. Jesus\u2019 very first words are, \u201cPeace to you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Today we continue to live in this truth \u2013 Jesus is Alive. He has risen just as He said He would. And with that, we have the peace of God.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus\u2019 words of comfort given over 2000 years ago are still alive and true to us today. What is making you afraid? Hear Jesus saying, \u201cPeace be with you.\u201d Then get ready to go and do as He commands<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prayer for today<\/strong>: <em>Dear Lord and Savior, please give me the peace that comes from knowing that you are right here with me. And give me the courage to respond in faith as you send me out to work in this world for the sake of Your kingdom.
