{"id":227,"date":"2020-04-14T01:20:25","date_gmt":"2020-04-14T01:20:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cornerstonecem.org\/blog\/?p=227"},"modified":"2020-04-12T22:22:57","modified_gmt":"2020-04-12T22:22:57","slug":"where-is-your-faith","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cornerstonecem.org\/blog\/where-is-your-faith\/","title":{"rendered":"Where is your faith?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>Tuesday, April 14<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Where is your faith?\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. <strong>Proverbs 3:5-6<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What are you wishing for today? Do we wish that things would be different in our lives? Or someone else\u2019s life? Or wish we had something more, or were somewhere else, or that something would go away? I wish &#8230; I wish &#8230; Some cross their fingers. Some cry out in distress. But to what avail? Wishing doesn\u2019t do anything or change anything. It\u2019s basically just a strong emotion all centered on you &#8211; I wish, I want, I need.<\/p>\n<p>But, hope, now that is much deeper. God tells us in Jeremiah 29:11 saying \u201c<em>I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for<\/em>.\u201d Hope has an element of possibility. Hope holds together something deeper than two fingers twined together for a good luck wish. Hope involves the soul. It\u2019s a strong desire with an expectation that it is reachable. Hope and aspiration are what many people build their lives upon. It\u2019s scriptural. \u2018<em>May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him\u2019 <\/em>(Romans 15:13). Jesus is our hope. \u2018<em>Christ in you, the hope of glory\u2019<\/em> Colossians 1:27). As the old hymn says: \u2019Our hope is built on nothing less than Jesus\u2019 blood and righteousness.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The real question is, \u201cWhere do we place our faith?\u201d Our faith must be in God. As we place our complete confidence in God and live as much as we can within His principles, we can depend on His faithfulness and mercy.<\/p>\n<p>When Jesus touches someone with His love you can see the light of hope that comes into their eyes, as their spirit responds to His love. There\u2019s great comfort in God\u2019s hope, whatever troubles we face. Trust in God and the power of the Holy Spirit.
