{"id":2225,"date":"2022-11-15T01:49:43","date_gmt":"2022-11-15T01:49:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cornerstonecem.org\/blog\/?p=2225"},"modified":"2022-11-11T19:51:10","modified_gmt":"2022-11-11T19:51:10","slug":"in-gods-hand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cornerstonecem.org\/blog\/in-gods-hand\/","title":{"rendered":"In God&#8217;s Hand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>Tuesday,\u00a0November 15<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In God\u2019s Hand<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. <\/em><strong>Genesis 50:20<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Have you ever had a big situation in your life where you just couldn&#8217;t process why God would allow this to happen? So much of our time is spent thinking \u2018Why me?\u2019 wishing the pain away, or questioning God\u2019s location in the storm. In his book titled \u2013 Trusting God, Even When Life Hurts Jerry Bridges speaks about suffering for the unbeliever and the believer. He says \u201c<em>That which should distinguish the suffering of believers from unbelievers is the confidence that our suffering is under the control of an all-powerful and all-loving God<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When we frantically search for answers and solutions to fix the problem, so that our lives can go back to \u2018normal\u2019 we must understand that our lives, according to God is never out of control. In fact, we ought to find comfort in knowing that even in our worst moments God is still in control.<\/p>\n<p>Consider the life of Joseph. God had a purpose for allowing Joseph to suffer. By Joseph\u2019s own testimony, the sufferings of Joseph\u2014physical, mental, and emotional agonies\u2014had been allowed by God so that Joseph could fulfill God\u2019s plan: to save many lives. \u201cYou intended to harm me, but God intended it for good\u2026\u201d (Genesis 50:20).<\/p>\n<p>So next time you want to throw your hands up into the air in frustration, remember your life is in God\u2019s hands and with that we must trust Him in the process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prayer for today<\/strong>: <em>God, You are my Refuge and my strength. While I maybe fed up and frustrated with life right now. I need Your help. Remind me that You are sovereign and in control. Help me to let go and stop trying to fix it and to trust You. Keep me from feeling upset about things I cannot control and give me a new trust in Your promise to work everything for my good. Thank You that You love me.
