In the midst of all that is happening do not forget your song of praise.<\/p>\n<p>I love music and one of the wonderful things about it is that, when you know a tune, it goes with you wherever you are \u2013 it\u2019s in your head. And, wherever David made his home, there was a song in his head: God\u2019s laws.<\/p>\n<p>Music made David feel secure, however scary his circumstances might have seemed. Yes, he trusted God to keep him safe, but he also knew that it is obedience that keeps a person in God\u2019s place of safety. That\u2019s why God\u2019s laws had a permanent place in his heart and why they were such a delight to him. As we still sometimes sing: \u2018<em>Trust and obey, for there\u2019s no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey<\/em>\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018<em>Happy are those who trust the Lord\u2026You have done many things for us, O Lord our God; \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0there is no one like you! You have made many wonderful plans for us. I could never speak of them all\u2014their number is so great<\/em>!\u2019 Psalm 40:4-5<\/p>\n<p>With the psalmist, we too can say, \u2018<em>Bless the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name, \u2026 forget not all His benefits.
