{"id":161,"date":"2020-03-11T01:58:23","date_gmt":"2020-03-11T01:58:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cornerstonecem.org\/blog\/?p=161"},"modified":"2020-03-10T14:59:33","modified_gmt":"2020-03-10T14:59:33","slug":"just-one-call-away","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cornerstonecem.org\/blog\/just-one-call-away\/","title":{"rendered":"Just One Call Away"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>Wednesday, March 11<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Just One Call Away <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>God is our refuge and strength always ready to help us in times of trouble. <strong>Psalm 46:1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the 1990\u2019s there was a commercial done by the Medical Alert which showed an elderly woman falling on the floor in distress she cried \u201cHelp I\u2019ve fallen and I can\u2019t get up!\u201d The commercial then goes on to advertise a button device which hung round her neck. If she should need help in an emergency, she can press it and it automatically puts a call through to a call center. This center is staffed 24\/7, and they ascertain the level of help required and notify someone to come to her assistance.<\/p>\n<p>This commercial reminds me of the verse written many years ago. The verse above reminds us that God is our ever present help in times of trouble. Wherever we are, whatever our circumstances, by His Spirit, He is with us and wants to help us. All we have to do is call on the Lord and He is available 24\/7. No button, no telephone line and no wireless signal required!<\/p>\n<p>Today, like the psalmist, testify to the fact that `<em>The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help, He rescues them from all their troubles<\/em>` (Psalm 34:17).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wednesday, March 11 Just One Call Away God is our refuge and strength always ready to help us in times of trouble.
