After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.<strong>\u00a0Hebrews 1:3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today, Christmas Day, we celebrate God entering the human family. We rejoice for the birth of Jesus and the amazing events that unfolded among the shepherds, angels, and Mary and Joseph. We also celebrate the reason God the Father sent His Son to us in the form of a little baby in Bethlehem. God sent Jesus to Earth on a mission. This is the marvel of history\u2014Jesus is both God and man! As God, He said, \u201cI and My Father are one.\u201d As man, He said, \u201cMy Father is greater than I\u201d (John 10:30; 14:28).<\/p>\n<p>Because Jesus is God, John wrote, \u201cThe Word was God.\u201d Because He was man, John wrote, \u201cAnd the Word became flesh and dwelt among us\u201d (John 1:1 and 1:14).<\/p>\n<p>As God, Jesus is \u201cKING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.\u201d Yet He is also \u201ca Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief\u201d (Revelation 19:16; Isaiah 53:3).<\/p>\n<p>As God, our Lord\u2019s \u201cgoings forth are from of old, from everlasting.\u201d As man, \u201cJesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea\u201d (Micah 5:2; Matthew 2:1).<\/p>\n<p>The whole Bible is about Christmas because the whole Bible is about Christ. Jesus\u2019 mission was to restore what sin destroyed. Jesus went to the cross and died a brutal, humiliating death to reconcile us with God. As God, He is pure and powerful enough to save us from sin and death.
