{"id":1499,"date":"2021-12-11T01:51:37","date_gmt":"2021-12-11T01:51:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cornerstonecem.org\/blog\/?p=1499"},"modified":"2021-12-09T22:54:40","modified_gmt":"2021-12-09T22:54:40","slug":"christmas-hope","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cornerstonecem.org\/blog\/christmas-hope\/","title":{"rendered":"Christmas Hope"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>December 11-12<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Christmas Hope <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018The days are coming,\u2019 declares the Lord, \u2018when I will fulfill the good promise I made to the people of Israel and Judah. <strong>Jeremiah 33:14<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Christmas is said to be the most wonderful time of the year. While it\u2019s easy for the holiday to pass by quickly, we must stop and celebrate the true reason for the season \u2013 the hope that is wrapped up in the birth of Jesus. Today may you be reminded of the hope, promise, joy and love the Bible gives us in telling God\u2019s great story.<\/p>\n<p>In Genesis 3:15, after the fall of man, God immediately gave a promise of hope to Adam, Eve \u2014 and us. He promised one day He would send a Savior to repair all that was broken. He would send Jesus to pay the ultimate price and bring back what was lost.<\/p>\n<p>Sure enough, thousands of years after this promise, the Gospel of Matthew describes the \u00a0fulfillment of God\u2019s wonderful, long-awaited promise when he writes, \u201cShe (Mary) will give birth to a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins\u201d (Matthew 1:21). This season remember why Jesus\u2019 arrival to Earth was necessary. Jesus came to restore what sin destroyed.
