{"id":1452,"date":"2021-11-18T01:24:12","date_gmt":"2021-11-18T01:24:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cornerstonecem.org\/blog\/?p=1452"},"modified":"2021-11-17T18:24:32","modified_gmt":"2021-11-17T18:24:32","slug":"its-not-too-late","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cornerstonecem.org\/blog\/its-not-too-late\/","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s Not Too Late"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>Thursday, November 18<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>It\u2019s Not Too Late<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And Jesus replied, \u201cI assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.\u201d <strong>Luke 23:43<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Many of us struggle with the fact that our past is not what we would have wanted it to be. We say things like \u201cIf only I knew back then what I know now\u201d is a common complaint. \u201cIf only I could have walked with the Lord back then, instead of having lived in years of pain.\u201d This struggle is, of course, quite understandable.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, although we may have a past which we aren\u2019t too proud of, we have a future and it\u2019s filled with His glorious hope!<\/p>\n<p>In the Gospel of Luke we read the exchange between Jesus and a criminal. This was a man at the end of a sad life, a life wasted, we might say. Yet, in his final moments, he turned his heart to Jesus. And this man, a dying criminal, has become a comfort and inspiration for countless millions of Christians to come. What a glorious hope!<\/p>\n<p>If God can do something so powerful and precious with a life which seems irreparably broken, can\u2019t He also do something with you? I think so and you should too. We serve an incredible God. He\u2019s well able to bring joy, blessing and comfort to many others as you surrender to Him, and allow Him to do His work in you, no matter how late in the day it might feel.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prayer for today<\/strong>: <em>Heavenly Father, sometimes I feel sad about the years that I can\u2019t get back. But I want to thank You for the time that\u2019s yet to come, and I trust that, also, for me, the best is yet to come.
