{"id":1303,"date":"2021-09-18T01:54:44","date_gmt":"2021-09-18T01:54:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cornerstonecem.org\/blog\/?p=1303"},"modified":"2021-09-13T20:13:03","modified_gmt":"2021-09-13T20:13:03","slug":"the-choice-of-faith","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cornerstonecem.org\/blog\/the-choice-of-faith\/","title":{"rendered":"The choice of Faith"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>September 18-19<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The choice of Faith \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It was faith that made the Israelites able to cross the Red Sea as if on dry land; when the Egyptians tried to do it, the water swallowed them up. <strong>Hebrews 11:29<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>God seems to delight in using weak people.<\/p>\n<p>As an adult, Moses made a life-changing decision. He chose to identify himself with God\u2019s people and forfeit his rights as the son of Pharaoh\u2019s daughter. This meant hardship and disgrace, danger and discouragement, desert wanderings and despair. But by faith he followed God\u2019s call on his life and went God\u2019s way. As one of the greatest leader of all time Moses led God\u2019s people out of Egypt across the Red Sea. We\u2019re told that when he left Egypt he didn\u2019t fear the king\u2019s anger, he moved in faith as God directed him. His faith overcame fear. He was looking ahead. His eyes were fixed on the reward to come. His life was rooted in the purposes of the God who had called him and who would be faithful to the end of the journey.<\/p>\n<p>Our choices are determined by faith. The choice of faith might mean sacrifice. It\u2019s only by faith that we can choose to go for the things that please God rather than pleasing ourselves. Like Moses we\u2019re called to suffer for the purposes of God rather than live for pleasure.<\/p>\n<p>The God of history is our God. The same God written in the times of Moses is the One who remains with you and I this day. He\u2019s the God of the impossible and He asks us to trust in Him. He\u2019s faithful to His word. His power is immense. However small our faith may be, if it\u2019s in Him, it\u2019s always sufficient, because God\u2019s strength is made perfect in weak people.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prayer for today:<\/strong> God, thank You for Your strength which gives me authority move as I place my trust in You.
