Sing\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ\u2014the Message\u2014have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God! Let every detail in your lives\u2014words, actions, whatever\u2014be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.\u00a0Colossians 3:15-17<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Do you ever stop and wonder, what is it about worshiping through a song that is so important to God? Often when we connect with God on a deeper level it is through song. I would not be as bold and say \u2018the\u2019 answer but I truly believe that one of the answers is found in today\u2019s reading. The Apostle Paul lays out this exhortation \u2013 \u201cAnd sing, sing, sing your hearts out to God<\/i>!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Singing is one of two ways the word of God fills our lives.\u00a0\u00a0When you sing you not only fill your life, but you aid in building up the lives of others around you. When you sing, you are pouring out the contents of your heart and are spiritually strengthened for the days ahead.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oftentimes, we think only of singing when we are happy and times are good, but singing brings strength (see Acts 16). Imagine being locked away as an innocent man. I know the furthest thing from my mind would be singing. Yet, this is what they did. Paul and Silas are unjustly imprisoned for the sake of the Gospel, and what do they do while they\u2019re in prison? They break out in song! What an amazing event it must have been, singing until the strength is renewed and the shackles begin to fall \u2013 hallelujah.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today sing unto the Lord. Singing allows God’s word to come alive inside. When the pain of grief or anger or loneliness has entered your heart and threatened to take over, imagine turning to God, whose love never fades, whose care never wavers, who will never forsake or abandon you and start singing \u201cMy hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame but wholly trust in Jesus name<\/i>\u2026\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
