Like the woman at the well, we too have a story to tell. What a testimony this woman had. She’d arrived at the well to fill her water jar alone, in the heat of the day. By the time she’d ended her exchange with Jesus she was so excited that she even forgot the reason why she’d gone to the well in the first place. She left her water jar behind in her hurry to go and tell the people in her town. She ran with her story. You too can run with your story. There is someone out there waiting to be encouraged, strengthened or comforted by you. When we share the story of how God stepped in and changed you through His Son—is a direct reflection of the undisputable, life-changing power of the Gospel we are operating as ambassadors of His kingdom. It’s one of the most effective tools in our evangelism toolbox. Before you got saved, there was an “old you” who was caught up in sin and didn’t know or have a relationship with the Lord. But now you have been changed by the goodness and mercy of the Lord. You can glorify God and magnify His message by telling others about how He changed you.

Today I encourage you to write down your story. Consider the following questions:

– Who explained the Gospel to you?

– Who invited you to church or Bible study?

– Where were you when you first heard the Gospel? Or what was the catalyst—the sermon, event, prayer or season—in which God touched your heart?

You can use these prompts to help you discover where you should start with your story. The best thing is that Jesus has died so we can be set free of our sins and go to heaven, but sometimes that’s a rather difficult concept to grasp. This is why it is important for us to share with others what God has done for us, this gives the personal touch. The world is able to see the changes in us – and then we can share what He’s done in our lives saying “Well, if He can do that for you, do you think He could also do it for me?” This question is a wonderful opening for us to lead them to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Prayer for today: Lord Jesus, Thank You so much for all that You’ve done in my life, for the many changes that you’ve brought. I want to speak of Your goodness, shout Your praise so that the world hears. Please give me the courage to speak about all the wonderful things that You’ve so generously done for me. In Your precious name I ask it, Amen.

Monday, May 31 Monday Morning Manna The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone.
