Do not lose heart because of these two smoldering stubs of firewood. <strong>Isaiah 7:4<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As a child waking up in the middle of the night to a dark room is frightening. Yet in this moment it brings great comfort knowing a parent is around saying,\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s okay, I am here.\u201d These words bring such confidence and peace deep into their hearts of the little one traveling to the bathroom in a dark room. Such simple, non-descript words really, and yet they contain so much depth of meaning to us as children. Somewhere inside we know it doesn\u2019t mean \u201ceverything is going to be perfect and I promise you won\u2019t get hurt\u201d but instead they mean quite simply \u201cwhatever happens, keep going, it is going to be OK and I will still be here and loving you\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>As adults we too can identify with this feeling. Nothing is more comforting to hear than these simple words from Father God &#8211; \u201cIt is going to be OK\u201d. I feel recharged in sharing this with you today. It doesn\u2019t necessarily change our situation in the day to day. It doesn\u2019t erase the circumstances that have caused us to be worried in the first place. BUT it does something so much more \u2026 it brings a deep peace and security to our hearts deep on the inside. It reminds us, just like in today\u2019s Scripture that He will never let us down. He will never leave us. We may still have to climb the mountain, ride through the storm, or scale the rock, but what new courage and energy we can experience to know no matter what\u2026 \u201cHe is my helper and I don\u2019t need to be afraid\u201d or as the Psalmist says \u201cthe Lord is my shepherd I have nothing to fear\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prayer for today<\/strong>: <em>Dear God, what a peace it brings my heart to know that You will never leave me, that You will never let me down. Thank you for Your words of assurance and truth to my heart.
