In You We Trust
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths ever. Proverbs 3:5-6
JESUS AT THE CENTER is a song written by Israel Houghton, Micah Massey and Adam Ranney that speaks of Jesus being the glue that holds all things together. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. No matter the circumstance we must always remember the promises of God. God is calling for our dependence on Him in and out of season. He is calling us to rely on Him in such a way that we cry out in full dependence. ‘God I need you to catch me or else I will surely fail.’
Even when the storm arrives if we plant our trust in the Lord then we will be like the trees planted by the water that doesn’t move. When suffering or temptation arises that’s when we are most susceptible to wanting to quit, but this is when we are not to give up, instead lean on Him with the understanding that God is still in control.
As you read the Bible you begin to grow in a relationship with God. That’s why getting to know God through His word is the key to trusting in Him. Trust is something that develops over time. The more you know about a person the more likely you are to trust in that person. The same is true with God the more you know of Him (through Reading and Prayer), the easier it is for you to be still in moments of chaos because you know that He is God. When we truly know God, even when the storms arise we will learn to trust in His wisdom and accept His timing!
No matter how dark today may look, joy always comes in the morning for those of us who have the faith to believe.
Prayer for today: Father, thank You that I’ve been spiritually transferred from darkness into light. I’m willing to put myself afresh into Your hands, so that I can be fully transformed. Amen.
